The most accurate and best built knife making kilns in the market today. All Kilns in the new KMxxTB series have the following features standard in addition to the previous models .

  1. The most robust all steel casing and heavy duty stand. These kilns are definitely not wrapped in a layer of shiny foil to make them look nice. The all steel construction and heavy duty door hinges make these the most robust kilns in the market. The controller, mounted in the base ensures these kilns take up minimum shop footprint. Looking for a kiln that will last for years and provide reliable trouble free service? Its not about being the cheapest, but providing the best value for money.
  2. Touch screen Bartlett controller with WiFi enabled. These controllers are the very latest in digital control that allow you to easily and intuitively program your kiln. The display can show firings as a table or graph and can be used to control external devices such as inert gas solenoid valves to ensure you are only using gas when the internal temperature requires it.
  3. The most even heat control in the market with side elements and in some models roof elements, placed to ensure minimum temperature variation along the full length of the furnace.
  4. Responsive thermocouples

You can make the perfect knife with the perfect steel and the perfect grind but without the correct heat treatment, the blade will never perform to its potential. Aside from removing the handle and reheat treating, there is no solu-tion. Knife making is as much about the journey as the end result, and having your own furnace allows you to experiment with heat treating to find the right recipe for your steel and intended use. Paragon makes this journey a pleasure. With their fully programmable controllers, they allow you control the rate at which the oven heats and cools, soak for as long as necessary and then repeat it batch after batch. You can even anneal steel and bring it back to its softened state. No more sending blades away, and waiting weeks for their return. With your own oven your blades can be heat treated in the afternoon ready for their final finish the next day. All Paragon heat treating furnaces are capable of reaching 1280°C.
